BYRON BAY TINTYPE PARLOUR

A photographic studio specialising in the wet plate collodion process, a 19th-century technique predating film photography. Founded by professional photographer Jaka Adamic, Byron Bay Tintype Parlour offers unique, tintype portrait sessions, capturing images through the process of coating aluminium or glass plates with collodion in the dark room. The plates are exposed and developed while wet, producing a negative image which when fixed, magically transforms into a direct-positive before your eyes. The resulting hand-crafted plates produce hauntingly beautiful and authentic original images. Byron Bay Tintype Parlour offers studio sessions which produce high quality hand-crafted and timeless portraits.
